What’s driving more single African-American women to adopt

Marriage and motherhood — it’s the dream that begins in childhood for many women. Yet more African-American women are deciding to adopt instead of waiting for a husband, says Mardie Caldwell, founder of Lifetime Adoption, an adoption referral and support group in Penn Valley, California.

“We’re seeing more and more single African-American women who are not finding men,” Caldwell says. “There’s a lack of qualified black men to get into relationships with.”

The numbers are grim. According to the 2006 U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, 45 percent of African-American women have never been married, compared with 23 percent of white women. Sound Off: What are the biggest challenges for black families?

Yet the decision to adopt isn’t just driven by the paucity of eligible African-American men, others say.

BAN DIVORCE or ALLOW MARRIAGE EQUALITY

Yes, the Bynum’s were the match made in heaven; she even said, “This was my once-in-a-lifetime wedding, and I did it this way because I plan to stay married.” But in less than 3 short years, not even prayer kept them from DIVORCE.

So, with all the fuss over the sanctity of marriage – lets either ban divorce or expand marriage to encompass others. You choose one!

George W. Bush stated in 2004 at the State of the Union Address:

A strong America must also value the institution of marriage. I believe we should respect individuals as we take a principled stand for one of the most fundamental, enduring institutions of our civilization. Congress has already taken a stand on this issue by passing the Defense of Marriage Act, signed in 1996 by President Clinton. That statute protects marriage under federal law as a union of a man and a woman, and declares that one state may not redefine marriage for other states.

And President Obama’s latest disappointment ref. DOMA was such a let down.

So, lets look at a draft:
1. A constitutional amendment banning divorce.
2. A federal law making adultery a felony.
3. A federal law making cunnilingus and fellatio (i.e., sodomy) a felony, even for married couples in the privacy of their own homes.

Those religious nuts say gays are trying to REDEFINE marriage, but
M.E Dyson says, ” No, bottom line: black people need to be the last people in the world telling anybody who they need to get married to, and at the end of the day… it’s all about LOVE.”

Rev. Harry Jackson’s $1.1Mil Crib

Get this! The Republican and Bush supporter, Rev. Harry Jackson who spearheaded a gay marriage referendum in DC, which was struck down today, went on Fox News crying bout his million dollar homes becoming public knowledge. WHAT?

Yeah, that’s the Rev’s 1.1 milllion crib in Silver Springs Maryland. The house looks a bit hidden it all those woods, but maybe that’s just the way Rev wanted it. Well… it ain’t hidden no mo! And look at that big pool! Wonder if the church members are invited to take a swin. Likely not!

See, this is what happens when Negro Bush supporting pastors take bribes from white, evangelical “Christians” at Family Research Council to become the face of anti-marriage equality. After it’s all over, you’re left looking stupid, to include a lot of personal dirty laundry left for scrutiny.

This is GREAT news! Now, onward with the proposed legislation for same-sex marriage to be performed within the District of Columbia.

Tim Craig at the WashPost stated, “The D.C. elections board blocked an effort today to hold a referendum on whether the District should recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, handing gay rights advocates a major victory.

Well….well…well…! Looka here! The dishonest Rev. Harry Jackson and his court of jesters entertain the masses while the DC Board of Elections heard arguments from both sides in a contentious fight regarding recent legislation to recognize same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions.

Just last monty Rev. Jackson declared war on DC: “It’s a declaration of war,” said Bishop Harry Jackson, senior pastor of Hope Christian Church in Beltsville,Maryland.”

So, these are the generals’ of Jackson’s army. Let’s not forget that Jackson’s army is funded by conservative Right wingnuts and bamboozled Blacks.

Anti Marriage Equality Pastor Speaks

And speak he did!
Meet pastor Leroy Swailes from Oxon Hill, Maryland who testified in Washington DC as an opponent of the District of Columbia recent passing of legislation to allow out-side state same-sex marriage to be recognized within DC. First, Leroy Swailes IS NOT a resident of Washington DC; he lives in Maryland. So, why would he and a host of outside pastors rally within a state/district which they do not vote, live, or pay taxes? Recently, many DC ministers who are proponents of marriage equality spoke out in support of marriage equality for DC.

The comments by pastor Swailes were very disturbing: homosexuality is anti-human and a form of both pedophilia and bestiality, and discrimination of gays is positive discrimination.
